The McKell Institute appoints Ed Cavanough as Chief Executive Officer.

The McKell Institute board has appointed Ed Cavanough as the Institute’s ongoing Chief Executive Officer. 

Ed Cavanough first joined the Institute in 2015, since holding the roles of Director of Policy and South Australia lead.

“I’m honoured to have received the confidence of the board and to have been appointed the CEO of the McKell Institute”, he said. 

“Australia always needs new and innovative policy ideas ideas to ensure we build a more prosperous, more inclusive society and economy.” 

“Over the years, I have seen our ideas inform government policy for the better.

“from action on worker exploitation to domestic manufacturing policy to the delivery of community-batteries, McKell has always played a forward leaning role in shaping our national policy debate”.

“I’m excited to have been given the opportunity to build upon this record of achievement”, he said. 

Ed brings to the role years of experience in policy, advocacy and journalism. 

Ed recently he served as Acting Chief Executive Officer.
