Congratulations McKell Institute Board Member Liberty Sanger OAM

Congratulations McKell Institute Board Member Liberty Sanger OAM acknowledged in the Queen’s Birthday Honours – Medal (OAM) of the Order of Australia in the General Division.

For service to the law, and to the community.

Liberty is a National board member of the McKell Institute and is an inaugural member of the McKell Victoria Advisory Board since 2016.

“Achieving gender equality is everyone’s responsibility. Equal pay, safe workplaces and workplaces that look and feel like Australia should be a given. Yet every day we read and hear stories of unequal pay, gendered workplace injuries such as sexual harassment and violence against women.  Are we happy about that? I am not. In fact I am furious about it.

The community that I want to be a part of is one that celebrates and embraces the diversity of our people and the contribution we can all make. This will only happen when we fix our culture. For some this will require listening, learning, reflecting and changing behaviour. For others it will require working together to make your voice heard and get the changes we need.”
